erm, I dunno... mainly because they escalated alot wen he lost his job he wrote to the bank to let them know that he wouldn't be able to pay for this period & they didn't really care no suprise so then wen he finally got a job they were way too high. i think he owes about £4000 altogether he makes no payments
his income is £12,000 per yr, mine will be aroud £13,000

I think you will really strugle to get a mortgae without a large deposit and excellent creit histories on those incomes. Abbey national seem to be lending the most at the moment giving couples 5 times their income which would give you a maximum £125000 and that's before they consider monthly outgoings not sure where you live but I couldn't get a shed in my area for that.
Secondly I really wouldn't link yourself financially to him if he has bad credit history as this will then count against you and if you both have bad credit it will be even harder to get a mortgage.
