If you go bankrupt you wont get a mortgage until you are discharged from bankruptcy. Ditch the boyfriend get a good job get the mortgage in your name and fallin love with him againI like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)0

Good luck finding a job well paid enough for you to get a mortgage on just your income.
Thats why so many people can only buy as a couple.0 -

Hi there
Basically, for you to get a mortgage in your name, you will need an income. If your boyfriend gets a mortgage, his debts will drastically reduce the amount he can borrow. Plus when a credit check is done, if the debts aren't being repaid then there will presumably (?) be missed payments - this will all go against him.
If you get a joint mortgage, then you will become 'associated' so his debts will also go against you.
If you can tell us his income, what debts he has (the amounts) and if he has missed payments etc. we might be able to help you more.

Sorry, also, he might be able to add the debts to the mortgage (although I personally would not recommend this!). But I can't see how he will get a mortgage if he is not paying anything towards his debts.
Can you tell us why he's not paying towards his debts? The reason?0
