When you don't have a gift list / don't want anything

I have to say even if a couple said this to me I'd buy a present. I'd either buy voucers for something or a nice piece of crystal.
You are leaving yourself wide open to receiving 27 wooden bowls as people will buy a gift regardless.
I think a Charity donation is a good idea or the recipe one. That is lovely.
But I also think that people like to buy you a wedding gift as it reminds you of them throughout your life. We went for much better quality stuff than we had e.g. silver napkin rings rather than pants ones. Everytime I use them I think lovely thoughts about my lovely friends who gave them to us. If people want to do that, then do let them.0 -
Have to agree with everything said really. We are asking for money as we are in the process of buying a house and although we have most things, we don't want people wasting their time and money on stuff we have, but then there are things we need!
I would definitely ask for a nice card. That's one thing I love is nice cards, and it is something you can keep forever
If you want to go out for a meal or something you could just say save it, we would like to do something as an extra celebration after the wedding and you'd really like them to come and so save their money for that.
I do think you'll be surprised at how many people do turn up with some form of gift, even if it's a bottle of champers! Think it is sort of the done thing not to turn up empty handed - although for that person to say that to BugglyB is really rude and out of order.Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0 -
