Oh wow. Did a slightly posh version of a sporty riot shop for RE/MF today. Saw it was an urgent one, so phoned up and asked for mileage. Initially offered a third extra of the reimbursement, but I ummed and ahhhed and managed to get it tripled. Was well chuffed. I'm normally really shy and find it hard to ask for more, but from now on, I will be doing it regularly. Thanks PROSHOPPER, TUDORC and all the others that normally give advice about asking for more.

If anyone has a spare moment and want to join a survey/product trial site, I would recommend www.bzzagent.co.uk I signed up a while ago and have had numerous trials now (yogurts, chocolate bars, baking products and various others). Just today I got a mahoosive box filled with Tony and Guy goodies. There is a thread at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1053593 if anyone wants to have a look. I can't guarantee you will get any trials, but there is no harm in signing up if you have time to spare.

PS. Some BOOTS stores have Lexmark ink cartridges on clearance as they are no longer selling them. Managed to get quite a few. Have a look in your local, they may have some.

Back when I initially asked about upgrading to a large to get the free glass I also asked a gap employee who phoned me up that day. Anyway, he got back to me today and said that you couldn't upgrade because of the free glass. Something along the lines of it not normally being a problem going large but because of the promotion you couldn't do it.

Now I suspect that they don't even check and as people have had no problems in the past it would still be ok. However, as they are my first few shops I'm not going to take the risk as I wouldn't be going to !!!!!! if I wasn't being reimbursed for it.

I must admit I did order a large today and it did take an extra 15 seconds to get the glass....then the drink....then the burger...then the receipt...oh the printer's out of paper...hang on I'll get that (30 seconds later and another concerned crew member asking me what's up in the meantime)...then the fries (stop)..then the sauce which was requested ages ago and he forgot...he was slow.

I've got a written response from Gap confirming a large could be ordered only yesterday! All that was mentioned as a caviat was that the reimbursement would only be as shown on the assignment papers.

Anyone doing 'Causal' work in supermarkets (using a rather ancient bar code scanner)? My query is this device needs a modem and a fixed landline to return the captures to the client, but it sounds like an old V300 data modem, and does not make use of the web.

Has anyone managed to find a way of uploading captures by anything OTHER than a phone line? (Cellular, Web broweser or whatever)?

I do this, you definitely need a phone line as far as I know. Can you ask your supervisor? You can take the modem to anyones house with a phone line, its an 0800 number.

I recently had issues with my phone line and had to enquire if there was another way to send it and was told no. Ended up using a neighbours phone line

That's good to know. The few people I've spoken to haven't exactly spoken to me with any confidence about anything so I would be more inclined to trust what you have written down.
