What do you do when the RA electronics shop want to sign you up when you ask about the mailing list? I'm got forced into signing up today, and don't particularly want to again in future....

    1. Dont do those jobs...... whats the fee?!
    2. Just tell them you're already a member
    3. Give fake details

Give a false address? I've not done any of those ones yet as the questions at the end are so out of place, it must be a right giveaway.

I thought about that, but I was asked for the house number and postcode and I guess if they didn't match up I'd look a little silly not knowing my own address.

It depends how much they want them done and done right, I did a re-shop today for just over 6x the original fee. :D
  • Anyone else find that they do not get a lot of assignments in there area? i do not get many although i would be willing to travel up to 60 as a area even more rural than where i am (small town about 10 miles from Swansea) seems to always have a lot of jobs although the fees are not brilliant. How would you go about negotiating the fees? and are companys normally willing to do this?
    1% challenge £2015.50 = £20.16
    Make £2.50 a day £80.82/77.50

well done, thats generally how it works.
keep going till you can replace the sainsburys job altogether, youll enjoy it more... usually

I would do that if I lived in London and buy a monthly or quarterly ticket that covers all zones of buses and underground.

I am picky with doing certain towns in Leicestershire as they are either are roadwork capital of the Midlands or parking is a joke.

You make it up in advance by using the web to come up with something sensible, then you write it down and/or remember it and just trot it out when asked.

I actually struggle more now if it's my own address.

Im in Swansea and dont really have an issue with finding assignments. Theres usually plenty around Cardiff and Llanelli too if you are willing to travel. Dont know if we are seeing the same jobs but i see 5 for Llanelli today on MF.

How long have you been doing it ?. Usually i find that i get phoned for urgent jobs and then i just ask them to increase the fee especially for out of town places.

If I have to make up an address, regardless if its for mystery shopping or whatever is to use two different postcodes. How I remember them is easy - my and my parents' postcodes swapped around. If my postcode is AA18 1AB and my parents is AA8 0HF, I quote either AA18 0HF or AA8 1AB.
I know both of the street names of these 'new' postcodes;)

Well few. Would turn that down but if they didn't pay peanuts as initial rate they wouldn't generally get monkeys requiring revisits
