Which agencies do you think pay much better then? Other than the odd crappy job, I've found that MF fees are pretty much in-line with their competitors.
See I do this full time rather than a lunch break distraction, so wont take low fee work
I find all the other companies I work for, the majority of which are listed on the front page, pay at least 3-4 times a mf rate
i do audit work too mainly which is usually in comparison far "easier" in reporting terms than writing a report saying the same thing in 5 different ways then dealing with queries in the way a mf job does
till people stop taking them, they wont increase their fees
wouldnt you prefer to take 2 jobs less for the same fee with proper rates ?
regardless of needing to "make a living" doing this full time means its more important for me than others who just do it to have a free lunch and that really isnt me "looking down" on anyone, its just my opinion that companies like mf/AA/ RA who pay miniscule rates diminishes the industry rate as a whole to the detriment of everyone whether you realise it or not.
being available during other hours of the day means you get more work with other companies usually but if that is all the time you have, then obviously they may seem "attractive" to you.
but would you do your main job for that fee per hour pro rata... i very much doubt it0 -

But at the end of the day it's one of those things. If everyone we're to stand up and say "Were not working for that" then fee's would go up BUT just because you personally wouldn't doesn't mean somebody else agree's.
Another example. Everyone standing up and saying 'We're not paying £1.49 for a litre of fuel". It's a great idea, but people need to get to work/go on holiday etc
And I agree with:
wouldnt you prefer to take 2 jobs less for the same fee with proper rates ?
Yes, but if there aren't the jobs around to do this, it's not a matter of choice.I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -
Thanks for the great post. I just signed up with ABA-i. Started the Market Force app process, but took too long. Was with them under the previous name but it doesn't seem to remember me.0

re the above.
obviously it depends on location, but in many places the work is there
ive just been allocated 5 jobs tonight that will take a little over an hour all in for travel visit and data entry (1 spreadsheet line per visit) for all 5
and its paying x2 a typical mf fee for the same number of visits that would take 5 times as long
I realise every jobs not like that and understand we all need to make money, but i go by the phrase a mentor i worked with once told me years ago that you aim for the sky and you might reach the top of a tree, aim for the top of a tree and you may never leave the ground...
not intending to make it a fee rant day....
buuuuutt
anyone think the helion bank jobs are asking for just a little too much for that fee ?
enquiry only great but full on potential double application and credit impact...
ill pass thanks0 -
Yes, I was thinking the fee was low on that particular assignment which is surprising as they are usually pretty fair with fees.
I do the paying bookies for MF and the underground sarnie, for me they are easy jobs. If I could get to grips with the assigment I would do the posh sarnies as well.
I had a lovely theatre show with refreshments paid when I was on my hols last week so for me there are MF jobs I will definitly take and others I will never do. When I was MSing full time free lunches were still good for me, especially if fitting in nicely with a bunch of other shops.0 -

The work may be there, but if I don't see it, I can't take it.
Do remember, as a full timer you will see a lot of work that never crosses my path because I don't have the ability to be flexible. I can take work during my lunch hour and after work. (a lot of jobs I miss because of the time restrictions in place).
And I do aim high. I'm aiming for a house deposit. The question I ask myself is, Do I want to make lunch and spend £2 doing so? or do I want lunch paid for and be £3 closer to my goal?
There are a lot of things I do that fall poor of an MF fee. I complete surveys, am a member of panels, paid to click sites etc None of which gives me massive amounts of money, BUT I can spend my time (of which I have a lot) watching TV and not making any money, or I can spend my time watching TV and making £1 an hour. It's not a great rate (nor is it probably accurate) but for every click of a mouse, posting of an envolope, ping of a text I am a little bit closer to the time I can sit in my own home, with my partner, on my own sofa, in front of the TV I earned by doing crappy surveys stroking the two kittens I intend to get that I cannot now because of the dog.
Everyone has a different set of circumstance's. I may be considered more desperate than some for the money, and most likely I am, and thats what drives me to just get on with it.
I may not be aiming for the sky or the top of a tree, but I'm most certainly aiming for a goal.
And Yes, Helion are asking a lot and paying well below another company that does a similar job.I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -

Hi everyone
Hoping you can all help. I've signed up for a few mystery shopping companies (MF, ABAI, RA,GAP,GFK) and have completed a couple of assignments for MF. Now I am starting to build my confidence I would like to get some slightly better paid jobs if they are available. Can anyone recommend the best co.s to be signed up with or PM me? Also can anyone advise if you need to do some of the lower paid work to build up your reputation with a company? I've seen some people commenting on hotel stays and mystery shop visits which pay 3 or 4 times the MF rate can anyone advise where best to look?0 -
Tern have some nice jobs, you do need to be good at narrative reports though.
Gap can be one of the best paying jobs for ease of work when they start paying bonus's so stick with them.
Helion are reasonable and easy reports.0
