I don't understand why they want a post-visit photo - what difference does it make if you take a photo before the shop?

No idea love. Mind you, most of the said shops are in malls and do not have windows or doors, so the staff can directly see you even if you take a photo at an angle.

Having said that, I'm doing another one tomorrow. Oh the joy.

If anyone sees you then they know you are their shopper, if you do this afterwards it doesn't make a great deal of difference.

The only problem I've ever had with a photo for a GFK phone shop is when an enormous lorry was parked right in front of one. I just sent it in anyway, even though you couldn't see either the shop itself or what was at either side. Not much else I could do though! :D

Has anyone done a PiP DIY store recently? The better paid one? Just done my first and am wondering if I've mucked up the report somehow or if it really is that easy? Where are you supposed to enter the written part of the report as requested in the brief? And do they not want any proof of your purchase?

As it is, I've ticked about 20 boxes and pressed submit, and that appears to be that.

Have emailed them too, because I'm sure I must have missed something!

I did some last month and thought the same. No questions back from PIP.

Blimey, well that's a decent job then, isn't it? Thanks!

Maybe not a big difference to you, but it is to me. If I try and do the shop again 4/6 months later, I don't really want to be recognised. It makes it very awkward.

Some of the staff in the said shop are not as dumb as they come across. Did a different store 9 months later and the woman remembered my name and what phone I had including which phone I had made enquiries about! Eeeeeek.

PS. Thanks for the burger shop alert. Managed to finally get one. The reimbursement is rather healthy. Woop. Woop.

Spot on. And pretty obvious really.

If they see you taking the photo before you've gone in, that's it, job cancelled, no pay.
If they see you afterwards though it doesn't matter. You've done the assignment and will receive pay.
It's often hard to get a photo, especially in a mall. What I often do is disguise my camera/phone. I just get a leaflet or a take-a-way menu, fashion a hole in it for the lens, then snap away. Secret agent style

Brilliant! I love the use of 'fashion' as well.

I discovered recently that if I have my headphones plugged into my iPhone and I click the volume up button the phone takes a photo.... slightly less suspicious since you don't have to touch the screen.
