Your work sounds A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
Ahem.
Mystery shopping for airlines and hotels!
WOW!
After reading your reply - you are correct - why would you hand such a job on a plate to anyone else?
You keep that plate to yourself, along with the covert and the overt duties you do.
Infact, it may be best if you STOP posting on MS.
That way your job will remain a mystery. And you can keep it forever!
I do believe you were moaning about being called a troll.
I think the point you are missing is that MS is pretty much different for every person. It's unique to where you live, how much you will work for, who you signed up to and how much you want to travel to work.
I am very picky too and only do a few jobs a month, they tend now to be video and it pays pretty well but usually involves a lot of driving and sometimes staying over to make the journey manageable. In fact, my 3 jobs last month involved 700 miles of driving and two of them failed...so it's high risk but worth it for me.
Ironically, I don't do flights, a) because I don't work for the right people and b) I wouldn't like the pressure. But I do know people who take full advantage of the flight opportunities and also the hotel assignments.
However, I also think MSing caters well for those people who just want to add a wee bit of interest to their everyday shopping.
So if someone asks "will I make money?", the answer is always "maybe" as it's very situational and directly related to the individual's circumstances and risk tolerance.0 -
What's happened? What's going on?
An argument, and I'm not involved!?
Oi!! McGonis. There's only room for one troll on here, so get off my bridge. Whitelabel's one of MY goats, so comes under my protection.
The 'Utilities' forum is in dire need of some livening up though. Go see what you can stir up there.0 -

Essay wasn't for you as you've given up already.
Do you play poker, you have that same sort of "chatbox hero" mentality as the fish that play.
Can't understand the MUMBOJUMBO you expert MS people speak.
You have joined a conversation I was having on another post. The post has been merged with this one.
Why don't you do one?
I always try to be nice and helpful when I post on this site. You really are making me want to be anything but.............0 -

Hello. I did this for a couple of years. I signed up to STORECHECKERS, RETAIL EYES and RETAIL MAXIM.
To me it sounded a good job, but my own opinion is you get very little for the effort. You maybe get asked to go to Shop and purchase a sandwich.
But there are 30 odd questions to answer about your visit and also upload a photo of the branch. So in those few minutes you are in the store, you are having to ask a daft question to check the servers product knowledge but also remember what promotional posters were on display, how long they took to prepare the sandwich in seconds, how many people were in the store at the time.
I could go on and on. Sometimes, you just could not remember everything they wanted to know and the answer you gave the MS company may not have been 100% accurate.
For that visit, you would get £% refund for the purchase and maybe £^ for the visit. Your have then to input all the answers to a web page of the MS company etc etc. The input can take 30 minutes of your time on top of how long you speant getting to and back from the shop.
It sounds a great job, my opinion is the shopper is being exploited a wee bit. Someone else will probably come along and say that is not the case - there is a whole post on there about it and I upset a few people some months ago when I posted on it. They called me a troll and had my post removed.
Good luck if you do decide to go ahead with it. For me, I was better off financially, just getting a part time job in a shop.
I saw the other thread, which is why I'm commenting. The OP asked a question and you told them MSing was rubbish and not to bother (edited in for info to other readers). Hence my helpful and informative post on how MSing is different for different people. Your experience was very bottom-end and not really reflective of the job as a whole. You could have done a LOT better, if you had put some effort in.0 -
