Childrens Bank Account whilst in Trust Deed

Our second child was born recently, we applied to the Co-op Bank to open a bank account for him, we are both in Scottish Trust Deeds, the application was rejected, presumably due to our circumstances.
Will we be able to open an account for him at all, or will our circumstances prevent that?
