Ruined fairy cakes help please

I made some fairy cakes today for the kids pack lunch but forgot to put the sugar in!:o
I hate waste and cannot bear to throw them away, any suggetions on what if anything i can do with them, they have orange zest and juice in too so slightly sweet but they have a strange texture and obviously aren't sweet enough to be regular cakes.
Thanks for any replies xxx:D

Cakepops? The buttercream will disguise the texture and sweeten them up :)

  • I second making a bread and butter pudding. I tend to do this with any muffins or scones that have gone stale so I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Just cut them in half, spread with butter (and perhaps some jam too!) bung in some raisins or sultanas, then follow a normal bread and butter pudding recipe. It should take away from the strange texture.
    Hope this helps.

    Some good ideas on here.

I just had to say that don't worry, I've done the same before now :o From what I remember I made trifle. I almost did the same another time, but realised just as I was licking the whisk (before I put the mixture into cake cases) so I managed to salvage that batch :rotfl:
