Thanks, will give it a try. Probably a daft question, but I take it that you do usually like chilean sauvignon - ie it was this particular one you didn't like rather than not liking it in general?
Also has anyone had this particular deal delivered yet and how long did it take from time of ordering?0 -
Some Virgin wine is OK some is not, can't beat the recent deal from Tesco's though, just took delivery last night of 6 bottle of Shiraz, 6 Shiraz Pinotage( SA absolutely lovely) and 6 of Pinot Grigio for £37.00.
I am not inclined to use Virgin again.0 -

Deal's finished now... but just to gloat, it was 20% off everything on their wine website already, plus a £15 off £50 code and free delivery to boot. I got 6 finest gewurtztraminers, 6 finest cabernets (both given 17/20 by malcolm gluck on superplonk website) and 6 25cl bottles of merlot that I'll use for cooking - all for £39. Lovely!
My virgin stuff has arrived today so will try out the sauvignon tonight. If it's crap, it's going back.0 -
I agree, Virgin wine even on offer is not as good as wine I get from Tesco with voucher codes and free delivery!!Christa1 wrote:Some Virgin wine is OK some is not, can't beat the recent deal from Tesco's though, just took delivery last night of 6 bottle of Shiraz, 6 Shiraz Pinotage( SA absolutely lovely) and 6 of Pinot Grigio for £37.00.

It's not widely known, but if a bottle sucks, and you don't fancy calling in, mark it with one star on the 'rate your wines' tab of the website and they credit your account with the value of that bottle (though sometimes it takes a while). Time to trawl some back orders maybe?
This credit also doesnt count as a voucher, so it can be used with vouchers!0 -
Right, have tried the sauvignon tonight and it's perfectly acceptable. I think hurdy must have been unlucky with a dodgy batch. It is very dry but quite a fresh fruity bouquet. Wouldn't say it is the best sauvignon I've ever tasted, but certainly not bad. Rioja tomorrow then.....
