is this electrical quote fair?

Im looking to get my house rewired, a 3 bed semi in surrey. I have been quoted 2 very different amounts, one at £2200 and one at £3400. It seems a massive difference considering they have quoted for the same work. They are both niceic registered electricians. I know it seems obvious to go with the cheaper quote, but I was wondering if anyone has any reccomendations of electricians in the area, or somewhere I can get a third quote from just to compare.

Read them both very carefully - unless you have provided an exact specification down to the make of the sockets/fuse board then they won't be the same.

Your best bet is to either get a third quote and see where that sits, or try and get some feedback on the electricians. I know that if someone asked me, I'd try to put them in touch with a customer who had used me.

Finally, gut instinct is often right - you will be having this person in your home - which would you feel more comfortable with??
