Hi, apologies now if this is in the wrong place (never done this before!!)
My nan recently had a stroke and we are trying to sort her finances etc. we have recently discovered she has been "sold" 5 forms of sky tv insurance.
obviously she doesn't need all of these and they are taking money out of her bank monthly/quarterly etc - some since 2009
What do we do?! Any advice would be fantastic please. Thank you

Put a complaint into the companies that sold these, ask that they refund these or you will take this to the Financial Ombudsman they seem to have taken advantage of an old lady.
It is worse if your Nan did not know what she was buying.0 -

Cancel them all, obviously.
Your Nan has obviously been caught at different times by different insurers. I'm certain you could write to the insurers individually (assuming they're with different providers) and explain how they were bought by an elderly person who didn't need all of them. Request a refund on each of them.
If you get no joy, approach the Financial Ombudsman.0 -

thank you both

yep - obviously going to cancel them, just wondered what the best approach was.0 -
Write with as much detail (dates etc) as you can find about the sale of these. The only one you may have greater difficulty with should be the first policy, since that didn't duplicate existing cover.itsy_bitsy wrote: »just wondered what the best approach was.0 -
