Cycle chain lubricant

I use muc off, wet or dry lube depending on the conditions, but most of my riding is off road0

Wilkinson's do a decent cycle lube for not very much money at all - they also do a '3-in-1' type general oil, but it's the cycle-specific one I'm talking about.Long-haul Supporters DFW 120

I use Sheldon Brown's method - and usually drip far too much (local bike shop) oil on the chain. I clean the excess off with kitchen paper towels, go for a ride and clean again with paper towels.

When I was a racing cyclist in the 1950s the deluxe was to look after your chain was to remove it, vapour degrease using e.g. benzene and then immerse in hot graphited oil before "hanging up to dry". The benzene vapour bit was dodgey.
I was keen but I'd do it on the cheap, remove chain, simmer it in hot engine oil, cool and replace;);)
Today if I still cycled I'd simply buy an aerosol of chain spray, beats having a black oily stripe up yer leg:DI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
