Hello everyone, I need a bit of advice on something Ubuntu related...
I've decide to embrace my inner child and get a Speccy emulator installed on my Linux box
. I can't seem to get any of them to work properly though......I'm not sure if I'm missing something obvious, so need a bit of help
. I managed to get 'Speccy' on, but it didn't want to, LOAD, or run tzx files ...FBzx loads up to it's little screen then refuses to run any rom programs too...
Can anyone help me with an easy 1,2,3, 0r a,b,c style tutorial...I'm still learning the ways of Linux and Ubuntu
.
Thanks in advance

Speccy (Linux at least) doesn't support the TZX or any 'real tape' format, only SNA (Snapshots) and TAP (tape emulation).FBzx loads up to it's little screen then refuses to run any rom programs too...
Why not give Fuse a try?

Which one do I download from your suggested page, I've got to here:
http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=fuse-emulator
Which one do I download, and does it have an easy guide to follow?

Try the Wheezy packages...
Get this - http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/fuse-emulator-common
ETA: If you're running a decent spec machine then you might want to point your browser here http://wizard.ae.krakow.pl/~jb/qaop/js/ but it only supports TAP, Z80, SNA and ROM files, no TZX I'm afraid.
Then this - http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/fuse-emulator-gtk
or
this - http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/fuse-emulator-sdl
I think you might be better off trying the SDL version first. If that works then fair enough otherwise you might want to try the GTK version.
This might also come in useful...
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/precise/man1/fuse.1.html0 -
