IB/ESA Stopped. What can be claimed

Hello all.
I would like a little advice if possible please.
My mother has had a letter through saying that they have stopped her incapacity benefit I think it's ESA now. Her not qualifying is not in question diabetic since she was 5, 52 now (insulin) on many tablets and has 2 mth sick notes a time. She can't walk for long etc. she does get the lowest disability allowance £20 a week or fortnight. Like to point out that she has worked full time since she was 16 up to 50 and not lazy before those comments arise.
So after the letter she rang up and was told because her partner works full time (About £260 a week) she cannot claim anything and her partner has to provide.
What would she actually claim for? I've had her crying not knowing how she can stretch the money? Is she supposedly the small percentage to get shafted by this year budget? Any help would be greatly appciated.

nothing to do with this years budget, the deal is as of this month you can only get cont.based esa for 365 days, after that you have to qualify for income based and as her partner earns above the £7,500 threshold she simply doesnt qualify, she will of course still get her dla
depending on other circumstances there "may"be other benefits they could claim, housing benefit/council tax benefit spring to mind0 -
Already tried housing and council benefits before they declined it.
That's disgraceful if she can't claim nothing at all. Paid tax all her life for nothing.
Ok thank you for your help0 -
The partner may be able to claim working tax credits, help with housing, help with council tax etc. This should help offset the loss.
When did you try housing and council tax?“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -

No, she hasn't. Tax is not a Government run savings pot you know. Benefits are supposed to be for the most needy. She isn't as she has a loving partner to support her. She needs to head over to debt free wannbe and the old style boards. They'll help her manage on a lower income. Or she could consider a part time job.0 -
But she is getting some benefits, she is receiving approx £82 month DLA. It may not be a fortune, but it does help swell the families income a little. Surely couples should provide for each other? I always thought this was the normal thing to do.
If she can't manage on what she has coming in now, couldn't she think of doing a little part time job? Being insulin dependent doesn't normally prevent you from doing any kind of work and she could still carry on claiming her DLA for her mobility issues. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
