I had a ticket last August for parking in Camborne and not displaying my ticket properly( it blew off while closing my door and I didnt notice).
They took court action and I was ordered to pay them last month. Different scenario to yours but they will try to push it. Good luck!0 -
Puzzled as to whether you came here for any help as they should NEVER EVER win a case like that. Or was it decided by default?0
-
I was given advice to ignore letters from armtrac, so I did, and the court decided I had to pay. Does that mean it was decided by default?0
-
Did you defend the matter and turn up at court to argue it? I am puzzled as to why you didn't come here for help, since that claim wouldn't have lasted three minutes if properly defended.0
-
No, I ignored the first letter from court.I looked on a couple of forums and they all said ignore letters.
Im guessing I shouldn't have ignored the one from court!0 -
Absolutely spot on. NEVER IGNORE LETTERS FROM COURT.
If you don't question the claim in writing, the judgment against you is made by default- the Court does not stop to consider if it is a valid claim, the Court says well, if he doesn't deny the claim we will order him to pay. This is what's happened here.
How long ago did you get the notification form from the Court? Just wondering if its still in time to appeal. Or have you paid it already?0 -
Ah, I didn't realise that at the time.
I have already paid it, but thanks for that info, might come in handy for someone else who thinks they can ignore court letters!0 -
OK, my friend, it was an expensive lesson to learn, particularly as they would have lost spectacularly had you got one of us to help you defend it...
But as you say, it drives home the point NEVER IGNORE A LETTER FROM A COURT.
I hope everyone reading takes note; perhaps we need to put up a more conspicuous sticky.
Very galling as the PPC now claims it as a "success", which it isn't, and should have been instead a failure.0 -
Have now had 2 letters from debt recovery plus, the most recent offering a reduced payment offer.
I shall continue to ignore.0 -

Good stuff, and I am sure they match the letters shown in our sticky thread called 'PPC letters & threats' (third from the top of the parking sub-forum).
Enjoy playing snap with each one till it's 'game over'. You'll miss them when they're gone!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
