Self employed claiming ESA for max 4 weeks

Hi I am a 36 yr old self employed private hire taxi driver who has been off sick for 2 weeks & maybe 2 weeks more maximum who has never claimed a penny in benefits in his life.
I have set a claim in motion for both the contributory part & the income related part of Esa. I have not claimed council tax relief or housing benefit as its only for a short time & my mortgage (ex council) is paid off.
I own home jointly with my mother who receives state pension & still works, they want proof of her income (£290 a week) & proof of service charges or factors fees which are only £200 a yr if that.
My problem is they want 2 yrs tax returns & 6 month bank statements because I am registered self employed. I do not want to supply my bank statements & do not want prying eyes even though I do not have a pot to p*ss in.
If I drop the income related claim & keep the contributory element going I think I should receive £71 a week for the short time I have been ill. Will this stop demands for such information or should I abandon the claim altogether?

if i remember correctly when you claim you claim for both so that of you dont qualify for one you might get the other without having to claim a 2nd time
however if you dont have anything to hide why wouldnt you want to supply what they request?0 -
