Assessment for ESA

My mum recieves DLA for the past 5+ years, she got the letter that incapacity benefit, IS and severe disability benefit are being phased out and she will be telephone assessed for ESA.

Is this letter exclusive to her or do other people have experience of receiving this letter? I ask because I'm unsure weather my mum will be able to answer questions on the phone as she suffers from a mental condition in which she hears voices and hallucinates.

Any pointers about what the telephone interview will entail and what type of questions asked?

Thanks

ESA replaced IB and IS for people with disabilities in 2008. Claimants are being reassessed and moved onto ESA, eventually DLA, IB and IS for disability will all be phased out.

Could you take the telephone appointment for your mother ie: with her in the room to answer a couple of security questions?
