I think lilac and gold go amazingly well together, espcially pale gold! Lilac and silver could be a little, well, cold.

Lilac and ivory with gold accents sounds good to me.
As has been posted above, go for a muted gold, not something too brassy and I would say it'll look fab. When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble, give a whistle.

Having just a touch of gold would probably bring out the lilac more and experimenting with the fishbowls is a good ideaMarried my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0

one of my friends is coming over going to try and set up a table to see what it would look like. think that will make me happier as i dont want to look like ive throw it together..
but i think ill only have gold saches and something gold in the fish bowls ! cant belive people do this for a living!! but im a tight budget now as i lost my job a couple of months back, so maybe thats why im stressing now....0 -
Try not to stress.. It's not about how much money you spend on things! TO be honest the colours and the decorations look nice but really everyone will be looking at you and just enjoying the dayMarried my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0

What about something like this in a muted gold colour for your chairs? You could do them quite easily with some cheap material. They would look less formal than covers and sashes though!

My colour scheme is ivory and lilac, with bits of gold. So I think they go well
