Backdated WTC - Is this right?

We've recently had our claim for WTC accepted but it wasn't backdated.

We called the helpline today and they advised that if we required it to be backdated then we should have written in with the claim or called them up to ask. Is this right?

WTC Virgin!!

Many thanks,

Most claims are backdated automatically. Some are not, including WTC only claims.

Yes, the claim pack advises you include a letter. But the fact you didn't isn't a problem, they should just refer it to the backdating team. If they don't file an appeal against your first award notice.

Same position here more or less, in regards of backdating. (CTC).

As we receive severe disability element via disabled son, although we still requested for backdating in the letter, they have not done so yet.

(This however, is from Jan 2012 to March 2012).

I understand they only backdate to a month now but the backdating was requested in Feb 2012.

Sorry didnt mean to hyjack on your thread x
