Survey mix up - received a basic valuation but paid for a home buyers report!

Hi everyone
Going through the Leeds Building Society for our mortgage. I upgraded our survey to a Homebuyers Report and they paid £335 towards it and I paid £215. I could have had a basic valuation for free but wanted something more detailed.
Anyway, the money for the survey was debited on the 29th March and they carried out the survey on 12th April.
Just got my post and they have only done a basic valuation!

I phoned my mortgage broker and they are looking into it.
I don't know whether to phone the surveyor myself or to phone the Leeds direct or what to do.

Any advice - much appreciated.

From memory, Homebuyers take longer to come through, there's a lot more to it than a basic mortgage val.

With many lenders, they arrange for a copy of the valuation report to be sent to the buyers for their information, even if they have paid for a homebuyers or structural survey. As Madjock mentions, the homebuyers report will take longer as there is more typing up to do.

If you seem to be waiting what you feel is a little too long, then make a complaint to the company. This happened to me some years ago when over 4 weeks after the survey, I still didn't have the report. It took a further week to come through & I ended up writing to my lender suggesting this company be removed from their panel list.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Just been in touch with surveyors and although their system is down and can't specifically check if the home buyers report was carried out, she said if I have paid for it they would have done the report.
They said that it will take 5 days to get the report -phew!

Hopefully will get it soon -panic over!

Thanks Cattie and Madjock for your replies.
