What rights do I have re: new extension

We've moved into a renovated house. There's a single level extension at the back of the house. There's a few things i'm concerned about.
The floor is uneven.
The airbricks are only half a brick from the outside ground level (do concrete floors need airbricks?)
There's a damp smell outside the extension:confused:
It does have planning completion cert from the council. How
thoroughly do the council inspect extensions and is there any comeback?

    You need to check that there were full building regs for the extension. Not sure what comebacks you can have as you have now purchased the house. Did you get a full structral survey done before you purchased? What did it say?

    It is a case of buyer beware. Unless the seller has withheld information that you specifically enquired about, the problem is now yours to deal with.

    Yes there's full building regs. The survey did mention the sloping floor but in the lounge area of the open plan kitchen/lounge extension. The explanation was it was going to be tiled initially but the estate agent confirmed they said it would sell better carpeted. The floor in the kitchen extention area is tiled and uneven, this wasn't picked up at survey, the laying of the tiles look uneven so could it be it's just badly layed?
    Would be interested in the air bricks with a concrete floor issue as well.
    What the point in building regs if they don't give you any assurance of the work being done correctly? as :confused: as ever!
