Hi,

Bit confused over this forum!

I am doing the BUPA Great Manchester Run 2012 on May 20th, and would like to know if I can post a link to a MYDONATE (BT sponsored page) page I am going to create where people can make online donations to sponsor me to do the run, with all the money being donated to Macmillan nurses.

It will be an official BT MYDONATE webpage http://www.greatrun.org/btmydonate/

Full details taken from the actual BUPA Great Run website, here(bottom right):

http://www.greatrun.org/events/event.aspx?id=4

I haven't set it up yet as I'm just asking if I am allowed please?

Thanks in advance,

Rochdale_Guy

    This is in the rules

However worthy the cause, unfortunately we can't allow posts asking other site users to sponsor them or to give money to a particular charity other than on the Charities Board. Even on there posts must obey the following rules:
    • Any links must benefit a UK registered charity. The charity number and link to the website must be given.
    • Any sponsorship links must go via the legitimate online charity sponsorship sources such as Justgiving etc. Direct soliciting for money or sponsorship by any other method isn't permitted as it would be open to abuse.
    • Absolutely no links for personal gain may be posted..... even if the money will be split with a charity..... or even if you 'promise to give all the cash to charity'. There is no way to prove this so it will be deleted.
    • No soliciting for money for any individual will be permitted.
    • We will err on the side of caution, the last thing we want is someone scamming people there

    Fair way down the faqs

Short answer then is yes you can, as long as it's via one of the 'proper' charity giving sites, and MyDonate is one of them.

    Thanks Savvy_Sue

Yes, it would be an official "BT" MyDonate site, cheers! :T
