Well today has been a nightmare, what are our chances of appealing this fine?

I think you would deffo win that on appeal, then.0

thanks for the advice, i will find my camera tomorrow and try to take a good picture of the ticket and the fine as i dont have a scanner and post on pepipoo. thanks coupon mad for the link. Do you think it is worth sending off the letter in your link and do i send the originals or would i send photocopies? i will make sure i have photocopies before i send the originals.
what happens if i dont hear anything within the 14 days and the appeal fails, would i then owe £50?
Please post on pepipoo, you won't regret it.
Yes, definitely use Bogsy's letter and make any changes you need to make it personal to you and that car park. Head it up with the PCN number and send a COPY of the P&D ticket. Always keep original documents.
Read the back of the PCN. If you get an early appeal in then the 14 days is usually extended even if they reject it. So forget the 14 days once appealed!!
And if rejected, forget the discounted penalty and go for the all or nothing further appeal and adjudication IMHO. You should pay nothing (not 100% but a high chance you will win this at some stage, early or later).
I would think of this as £50 or nothing, with the odds very much in your favour.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

We haven't seen Bogsy's letter lose in any recent fluttering ticket cases!
