Jayex single line display screen

Options
Hi hoping someone can help.

We have a single line Jayex screen, in a doctors waiting room, which is not that old, out of guarantee and with no service agreement in place.

We have been given a quote from Jayex to repair... needs a CPU and supposedly a PSU. the toal repair including call out is around £900. This seem extortionate to me. We are stuck tho as we can t seem to find other info out anywhere else.

It woul.d be great if someone could please advise a cheaper option. ( the above also inc 12 mth tel support. )

£900 for a power supply and some kind of controller sounds outrageous - it may be one of those cases where a 'specialist' supplier that only does doctors surgeries knows that the staff are non-technical so just take the mickey with pricing. You may get the same thing from another sector for a LOT less. No power supply (unless impregnated with unicorn tears) should cost over £100, and that still allows someone a hefty profit margin.

Thanks so far for the replies... I m going to investigate a little further. My fears have been echoed . The display we have does need to interface with our clinical system I think, but i feel sure we must be able to fix this cheaper. Anymore ideas are welcome.

    Hi,

I work for the said company and would be interested to help you out where possible. If you could contact the company and ask for the senior account manager, we would be only to happy to advise on the quote you was given for the repair of your LED board and would revise it where necessary or offer you an alternative.
