Hi,
have a look in control panel> printers/faxes, is your printer shown there, and does it have a little tick beside it?0 -

It would help if we knew which make and model the printer is.
Epson have a counter that prevents waste ink from overflowing from the purge tank. Resetting is a simple, if somewhat messy, process.0 -
It's a Lexmark Z735

Hi Sugar
Try this. Disconnect the printer from the computer.
Click on Start, printers and Faxes. Right click on the printer and select delete.
Reconnect the printer. The PC should beep and show Found New Hardware.

I have done this but it didn't come up Found New Hardware. I just don't have a printer at all in the Printer & Faxes box now.

You should have two lots of drivers if you don't have them you need to re-install from the cd. But first un-install or try and repair from the CD came with the printer.

Or may be your xp not picking up the xp usb drivers their for you need to re-install the usb drivers from windows!.
Or your cable gone dead for some reason need a new one.
