East London - Rough Costs

Hi there!

I am looking to rent a 2 bedroom flat in East London.

Can anyone help with rough costs for water, gas and electricity? And council tax if possible?

Thank you!

Where in east London? There's several boroughs that can be considered east and council tax will vary for each. I rent a 2 bed in the Tower Hamlets borough, and have rented in Hackney. My ctax is around £125 per month (over 10 months). Water is £27 PCM, and electricity varies - £60-90 PCM depending on season. I don't have gas.

Hi, I think we do need a few more specifics as one area of East London will differ a fair amount from another with regards to council tax and sometimes water. Whereabouts in East London are you looking? Electricity and gas are more dependent on time of year, size of property, EPC - quality of building (eg if it's well insulated) and number of occupants. For 2 people in a 2 bed over winter time I'd guess £50 - £80 for both gas and electric, but of course over summer this will be reduced.
  • Sorry for being so vague - Thanks for your help so far! I am looking at Walthamstow/Leyton to live in. I know that I won't be able to get exacts from here don't worry - Just after a rough amount!

    Thanks xx
