US ESTA info needed - do we need to update?

OH and I visited USA twice last year and we hold current ESTAs. Next month we are going to NYC on private visit with my sister who also has an ESTA but not running concurrently with ours.

Do we need to do update them in any way for our forthcoming trip?

It's not obligatory to update them but you can do so if you wish to include your new address in the US

There's a link on the official site that allows you to do so FOC.

Reports say that whilst it isn't compulsory to update details it can mean less hassle when you arrive in the US.

Check your visa online - it shows how long it's valid for (until).

    It isn't a visa

You can check your visa or visa waiver details in your passport - no need to go online for that

Estas are valid for two years..unless you replace your passport before then in which case you need a new Esta.

There is no need to update the existing one.

Just a quick note on this - my family and I are off to Florida in a couple of weeks and have valid esta from two years ago, however they expire while we are there.

The official line is that they only need to be valid on entry, but knowing the America paranoia in border control, I'm concerned a little about being held up at entry. Has anyone encountered this or any other advice?

Actually, I think I just found my answer, although I still have some worries...

Brilliant ! Answered my question beautifully! We are having a big family trip out in August. We fly back on 30th Aug....& my kids have ESTA's valid until 31st August !
I was worried they would not be valid, but that link it pretty explicit that we are covered okay :-)

    cheers!

Don't get fooled by unofficial websites who charge more than the official fees and pay google loads to appear at the top of search results when you search.

    Hi

    Similar situation to the above

Flew into LA from Brisbane last year and then returned to UK in August 2011.

    Esta valid until July 2013.

Going to Miami in August 2012, do I need to update anything or not?

    Thanks in advance
