Living with cousins and want to get a council flat, help

I'm 18 and have no clue, about anything. Bills I'll need to pay, if I'll be able to afford everything etc. I get DLA for Asperger's and Dyspraxia and have put in a claim for ESA for depression and anxiety, fingers crossed they don't give me a hard time. If I get refused I'll have to go on JSA... Either way, what support will I get when/if they find me a council flat to rent? Will anything stop me from moving out, and will the council pay my rent?
Thanks

You can apply for housing and either the council or your local housing association will help you find accomodation. However, as you are housed already you will be lower in priority so it may take a while. The council will give you housing benefit if that is all you claim. You may only get a room in a shared house rate which isn't usually enough to rent a home of your own but if the council/HA gives you a flat then the HB will cover the rent for that property. Be warned though living by yourself can be expensive.I'm 18 and have no clue, about anything.
