Buying a Freehold

I have a house where the lease currently has 70 years. It's in a block of 5 and as far as I'm aware because it's a house and not a flat it's one on it's own. After my request to purchase the lease, I have received a quote including solictors fee's based on their valuation. Is it advisable to still seek the assistance of my own solicitor? My fear is by the time I have paid for their guidance it will cost more.

    This is a big purchase, so it might be advisable to have a solicitor to oversee it - make sure it's someone who knows about buying freehold though.

    It needn't cost the earth. I've been quoted about £200 solicitors costs for my freehold purchase.
