Hi, Im really hoping someone on here may be able to point me in the right direction or help me out as I don't know whee else to turn.
My husband was made redundant 16 months ago. He received JCA up until August last year and since then has been doing freelance work for an agency. It is very sporadic work and may not work for months. He is trying to get a full time job as well.
We had mortgage cover which paid our mortgage until march this year.
I work full time and my take home pay is £950 pm. We are getting no other income apart from CB (£80.00). My pay covers our bills but then we have no money for the £800 mortgage or living expenses such as food and petrol. I don't know what to do. Does anyone know if we are entitled to anything? I have single friends who get so much help so it sometimes seems that if I stopped my happy 20 year old marriage and split our family up I may get help?
Can anyone advise/help?
thank you.

I would imagine that you'll find that you are entitled to Child Tax Credit and possibly Working Tax Credit.
I'm sure your single friends who get 'so much help' would happily swap this for a loving, supportive relationship

if you have one child, it sounds like you should be entitled to some Child Tax Credit. Have you phoned them?
You can run your details through https://www.entitledto.co.uk and see what that throws up for you.0
