Parking Charge Notice VCS/Excel

:kisses:Hi I am new here so please forgive me if I am out of protocol.
I have read the stickies and many of the posts on the forum, the message I get loud and clear is IGNORE, which I am prepared to do. However I would like a little reassurance as I like many others can do without the hassle I will be happy and pleased to ignore. Would welcome a little conformation.
I parked and paid for a ticket (still have ticket) read the instructions for disputing this, my son told me to ignore it as they had no legal right to enforce...I thought your 18 what do you know (lesson learned there) I sent them email stating that I couldn't understand why they had sent me this letter as I have a ticket. The morning I got a reply saying we have not found sufficient grounds to cancel.....I saw my bottom....stumbled across your forum and wish I had found it first instead of panicking. The I realised that I have entered a 9 instead of a 5 on reg....before reading this I would have paid it as I had made a mistake under duress you understand...but now :rotfl: thank you to all of you on here.

So the information I have gathered from here is Ignore even if I get nasty letter. I won't enjoy getting them, but hey knowing they are unenforceable is great especially as the week before I did get 2 tickets 1 for being 3 minutes late back and one for overstaying on a motorway services car park. wish I had read on here first.

Thanks again Joanne

Please tell everyone you know about this scam. The more people who know the better.

Just treat all the silly letters you might receive as just another form of junk mail.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Waiting for the letters to arrive myself. Hold on to all the guys n gals on this site. We'll ride it out together.

Listen to the young, they are often more street-wise than the parents, who assume that if it looks official then it IS official.... when of course it ain't!

100% scam, they use this system in the fond hope that people WILL make a mistake with the registration and then be mug enough to pay them.

Best suggestion I can make- appoint your son as secretary and pass all the bumph they send directly to him. He has his head screwed on.

Unfortunate if you paid two other scamming tickets; these con artists rely on honest folk like yourself; but now you know, as Tri says, tell everyone what this scam consists of.

Bottom line, they may have turned your appeal down (they invariably do) but you have more chance of winning a Lotto quadruple rollover without buying a ticket than being taken to court by these crooks now they know you did pay for the parking.

  • Am reassured reading all your comments. I am getting really down about these letters threatening me with court etc even though I have given them evidence that I was not driving the car etc. They say in their latest letters that they have photographic evidence. So I have demanded to see it - because ( if it exists) it will prove that I was not the driver! At the same time am just sick of having these people on my back all the time with their stupid letters every few weeks. Have felt tempted just to pay up! Son is telling me no to.

Pay up? No way! Why would you even consider it? Since you seem to have done your homework by reading this forum, why on earth should the junk mail you're receiving get you down? You know it's all meaningless bluster. If you weren't driving then they have no case. And since, it seems, you have told them that, and they are still pursuing you, then YOU should now be suing THEM for harrassment. I'm sure Give them FA will be along to confirm that, and he may even help you do so if you really want to get your own back on these scammers.

Whatever you do, DO NOT PAY.
  • I do understand - I have got a fine for my car when I wasn't even driving it! Am holding out so far. This site is wonderful and i hope that if any cases do get to court the magistrates have been here too!
  • but Martin's site suggests reporting them for harassment to their 'governing boidy' whiuch - according to Watchdog is in their pocket.

Who gave you a fine ?
I would answer that question as soon as possible, it can be found on the send payment to section.
