Domain Name Problems

Hi, I am trying to register a domain name with https://www.123-reg.co.uk It lets me get as far as putting in my payment details but then errors saying I need to contact the support centre. I have emailed them but as yet no response from them. There is a contact number for them but its premium rate 50p per minute!!! Anyone know a cheaper number to call them or another Domain Name site they can recomend.

Thanks
Marzi

Had exactly the same problem and taking a look at 1and1.co.uk.
    Any comments anyone?

Does it make any difference where you buy the domain name from, as I won't necessarily be using them for the hosting?

I use 3ix.com . 59p a month for hosting and the domain was bought from lycos.co.uk for £4.98 for 2 years. can't go wrong.

Hi Zebra, you can buy the domain from anywhere and use any host for the site. You just set up web forwarding from where you bought the domain to your web host address.

Website up and running on https://www.aquaticsandreptiles.co.uk used https://www.ukreg.com signed up with them they called me within half an hour to confirm my details job done. Email confirmation came through to say domain was paid for and minutes later after setting up web forwarding to my host googlepages. Cost about £7 for the domain for two years not the cheapest but it was easy to sort.

Glad you got it sorted marzi. I think they were the cheapest when I first used them but I've not looked around much as I've always been pleased with their friendly and quick customer service. Gives me more confidence in them than trying someone else for not much more saving. :)

    Thanks Marzi.

Had a look at UKreg too (thanks Superscaper!).
Wasn't very impressed by 123.reg website anyway so will probably go with UKreg aswell.

    Good luck with the website!
