NPower £300 credit gone when switching

When looking at our Npower package for Duel Fuel for around £126 a month, it appeared we could actually be paying £100 for the same fuel with Scottish Power so have switched our power to them.
I have just received the final bill from NPower and despite being £200-£300 in credit since August last year, a rather baffling bill is simply stating £0.00 credit.
Our last bill stated £315 credit so baffled as what has happened and how unclear the bill is.
Can anyone advise who has recently left NPower?
I'm very confused and concerned...

Are you looking at a final bill from npower covering you up to the switch date. The closing reading also has to match the opening reading with your new supplier.
That bill should show a debit to pay or a credit if you had already overpaid. The overpayment would then be refunded to you. Could it just be you are waiting on a cheque?:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
Could it be that the previous bills were estimates and this one is an actual so you are playing catch up?IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Huge thanks for everyone that replied, maybe I was a little rash in posting but just a little nervous after being £300 in credit.
We usually call up with the meter readings so it shouldn't be to far out, but the fact the final bill states £0.00 must prove there is still a cheque to come.
We had a switch over confirmation from Scottish Power and a £50 cashback payment from them so it should now be complete. I guess I would just feel better when I hear from N Power.
I tried calling them about the fact the £300 credit now has disappeared from all online bills etc and when cheque will be sent but ended up settling for a callback request after a lifetime on hold.
Can anyone confirm that they send a cheque or pay via your direct debit, because I will cancel the direct debit if its a cheque they send.
Thanks again guys for your help.0 -
Normaly it would be by bacs refund, so dont cancelDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Just spoke to them, and they confirmed £350 credit but waiting for final electric bill to come off that figure and will then refund. Fingers crossed
Thanks for your help everyone/0 -

Now there is a problem. Its right that they should produce the final bill before crediting back but if your final bill states zero it would appear they calculated the exact refund and issued it prior to the bill so it appears zeroed out.
They are moving customers into their new SAP billing systems so it might be how it does it.
However, if the person you spoke to is right, then you will oww a sent and your credit gone as they said your final bill comes out of the credit...but that bill you said was a final one says zero. I suspect the person you spoke to got it wrong but i would suggest you check again as this doesn't sound right now.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
