Orange WEBMAIL - not receiving emails

I have a Freeserve account which is now run by Orange, but a couple of months ago I stopped getting general promo emails from the likes of Ebay & Travelodge.
I wasn't too concerned about it but now it seems to be spreading to purchases / bookings made over the internet where email confirmation would be expected.
It also has stopped me on at least one occasion from registering with a website as I didn't get the email I needed to confirm the registration.
Also mail from friends in the UK and abroad has been arriving intermittently.
Contacting Orange doesn't give any answers as they seem to think if you can receive one email then there's nothing wrong with the Orange webmail system
My suspicion is that it's Orange's automatic anti-spam / anti-virus system that's blocking the emails but there seems to be no way of turning them off.
So does anyone have any ideas?

As long as your sure it is something they are doing. It may be it sorts out in a couple of weeks. If not goto gmail or lycos.co.uk. Both free and good.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0

Sent an email to their customer support threatening to cancel the account and voila, it mysteriously sorted itself out within hours0
