HSBC/ Halifax account fraud

My Wife got a statement on the 1st from the HSBC and these transactions were on it:
£100 withdrawn halifax ATM derbysquare 10:56am
£10 withdrawn halifax ATM derbysquare 10:57am
£10 withdrawn halifax ATM derbysquare 10:58am
she took the £100 out because that's all she had in the account then somehow 1 minute later another £10 came out then another 1 minute after that. This made her overdrawn and the HSBC Has charged her for being overdrawn.
After Calling the HSBC and telling them about the situation, the person she spoke to said that it seem impossible for this to happen as you have to remove your card before the cash is issued then by the time you put it back in and and put your pin in it would be longer than 1 minute.
It must be a mistake made by the halifax he said and He called the Halifax, they said that nothing has been reported about the machine which is inside the branch by the way right under a camera.
They have both refused to sort the matter out.
I Told her to involve the police because 2 fraudulant transactions have been made from her account.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Make an appointment to see the branch manager of your bank. It is up to them to get in touch with the halifax and sort it out. Do not be fobbed off.0

I agree - not up to you to contact Halifax - You should be able to go into HSBC and complete a Debit Card/ATM claim form for the funds. It can take a week or two to sort out, but they are your bank so they are your main point of contact.0

She has had a update now!
She went to see the manager in the HSBC (thanks for the advice) explained the situation, the manager sent a member of staff over to a branch of Halifax to use a cash machine and time how long it would take to do the same withdrawerals. It took him nearly to 2 minutes to take the first 10 after the 100.
The HSBC then looked further into my wifes account and found out it has happened before on the same machine in the halifax branch. They have asked the halifax to look into but they insist their cash machine's are working perfectly and won't admit their could be a fault with the machine.
The actual speed of the transaction on the machine was 36 seconds after the first hundred, then the same for the next (2x£10). So it's got to be a fault on the mahine not cloning equipment0
