How To Disable Illumination On My Mobile Phone Dock

Hopefully someone can give me some advice. I bought a Sony Ericsson CDS-60 docking stand for my W950i mobile.
I'm impressed with the way it works but when the phone is docked and charging the stand is illuminated at the bottom by a green light. As the stand is at my bedside I would prefer no illumination. I have taken the casing off and the illumination comes from 3 small LEDS. Can anyone advise if it is possible to disable/break the LED's but still keep the charger working.
