Making enquiries about a property that is no longer for sale?

A house that interested my wife and I was removed from the property market at the beginning of the year, we were keen to view but weren’t in a good position at the time as we did not have our deposit together.

Now that we are, I still have link saved on RM even though I can’t view the finer details I can see who it was on with? Has anyone ever contacted an EA to ask about property that was removed from the market to see if the seller would be willing to sell again?

As far as I can see from the internet and other property web pages, the house was never sold which leads me to believe it was removed as the seller’s weren’t having any luck selling or maybe some other reason? There’s obviously the risk that it may not be as good as we thought and we could be wasting our time but you never know I suppose?

Would you make enquiries officially or would you drop a letter through the door and explain the situation and maybe deal with the seller’s directly? It’s been off the market for well over three months so I figure the EA wouldn’t actually be entitled to any fees?

What are people’s thoughts?

Many thanks

John

The EA fees aren't your affair, so don't worry about them.

Stick a note through the door asking the vendor to contact you if they ever consider marketing their property again in future.

If you get a call, great. If you don't, it's cost you practically nothing.

    nothing.

I disagree about the EA's fees, if tge vendors need a set amount after all costs then they will need to get more for the property if they have EA fees to pay. I do agree about putting a note through the door.

I guess I'll draft up some sort of letter then and see what happens?

If it was only withdrawn at the beginning of this year, it may have been sold but has not yet shown up on the land registry extract websites. It can take 3-6 months.

Well it's been nearly four months and nothing yet, I check about once a week and will continue to do so for the next few weeks

As you've been told, don't mess around with letters, knock on the door and ask.
