Subject Access Request & Power Of Attorney

Hello.. Any and all advice appreciated please...
In a nutshell, a family member, 3 years ago, appointed me and other relatives as Power of Attorney with relation to their financial affairs as their health was deteriorating. Unknown to me, that POA was activated last year and another person with POA has emptied a bank account and closed it down. The bank in question (RBS) are now saying that they are not obliged to provide me with details of transactions that took place, they will not provide me with statements etc.
I want to make a Subject Access Request under the POA. Will a standard SAR letter suffice, with proof of my status as POA attached?

I would have thought so.0

Absolutely, you have the interests of the data subject to act through a POA so should be nothing stopping you for SAR'ing them and sending the maximum fee of £10 and causing them an administration nightmare by requesting everything :-)0

I'm a bit surprised the POA was activated without you knowing, I though the OPG had to write to all of the attorneys listed to inform them it was being done.0

Did you register the PoA with the bank.
How was it worded? - any one of two to sign - both to sign etc?
If you did not register it with the bank then you have no authority to act now.
You need to be chasing the other attorney.0 -
With an LPA, if Attorneys are appointed 'jointly and severally' and only one of them applies to register it, the others will be written to by the OPG.
So do you mean that was it already registered (and you knew about that) but one Attorney has started using it without your knowledge?0
