They have to be careful with credit limit increases on there classic and progress card as these are cards for the poor credit scorers, where as their World MasterCard they are excellent with their increases hence the reason you need an excellent credit score to obtain one of these.

I wouldn't want a limit on the Vanquis card any higher than you would spend in a month anyway, as carrying a balance on their interest rates is crazy. They are putting up limits to several thousands but not decreasing the APR at all, they're !!!!!!s!

My granite card has £500, quite a nice number I think, and even over a period of 56 days I would only spend max 2/3rds ish of that.
    Oh, you wee bazza!

I fell out with Crapital None when they rejected an application from me on grounds that they couldn't verify my identity... bureaucracies aside they could just have asked me nicely to send some bills and a bank statement (etc) and they could have had my business, but no...

I need a higher limit just to Rent a van. Initial limit doesn't even cover the cost of deposit and they wont accept my Debit card...

Vanquis has the more successful subprime business model out of the two, their retail deposits are increasing rapidly so they have more money to lend, if you carry a balance and pay on time you will be fast tracked to a big limit :)

Do you have any idea what their maximum limit is? I started at £250, the went to £500, then it jumped to £1500 in 9 months. They must like me as even my own bank did not increase my limit as quickly. I saw somewhere I think that it could go up to £3000, which is high given the cost of borrowing from them.
