Money from will before house sale

Can anyone offer advice, A relative died 8 months ago and I am to be given quite a large sum of money from him. A solicitor is dealing with everything, probate has been granted and everything as far as I am aware is sorted apart from a buyer for his house. which is up for sale. Am I able to be given a small advance of any of the money left to me as atm we seem to be getting bill after bill and now our car needs quite a lot of work doing to it to get it back on the road which we just do not have the money to do. I am wondering it a small advancefrom the money left to me whilst the house is still up for sale is a legal posibility ?
Thanks for any advice

Easiest and best thing to do is ring the solicitor.

You can ask for an interim payment, ask the solicitor

If there is money in the estate (e.g. bank accounts) other than the proceeds of the house sale it may be possible. You will have to speak to the solicitor.

If you do get it you may find all the beneficiaries need a share. OH had 1/3 of his Grandad's estate, one of the others needed an advance so they all had some early (which was nice!)

Thanks for all the help. Think I will write a letter and see what they say. I just feel this house sale is going to drag on with the slow market which is a shame, because I dont like seeing it empty :( Fingers crossed they can do it.

It isnt unusual for the executors to make an interim payment while waiting for a house sale. The other beneficiaries may well be glad of the money too!
I would ask them if this would be possible.
