In their words - "we run the tumble dryer all day, every day"
There was only two of them, the mind boggles as to what they were actually using the tumble dryer for... :rotfl:
To save on ironing.
Apparently if you tumble dry some fabrics when creased you don't have iron them or it makes them easier to iron. (I haven't tried this.)
Alternatively you can just hang your clothes up as soon as you spun them which is much cheaper. (I do this. )I'm not cynical I'm realistic

But should you not have given your tenants a receipt for the 6 months advance? Is it too late to do so? Personally, had I been in their position, I would have asked for one.0

Tumble Dryers should be the condensing type or vented through an outside wall.
My last tenants never dried their clothes outside and the dryer wasn't vented. Muppets. Glad they've gone.

From an outsiders point of view, I'm not a tenet or LL , but I think as they have paid 6 mths up front is an ideal for both, I can't really see her argument for having it back, wouldn't the relief of being rent free as such for 6 mths be better than finding the money each month or having a bit left over ??:beer:0

Is the 6 months up-front in addition to the normal monthly rental payments i.e., they remain 6 months in front, a bit like a deposit? Alternatiely, after 5 months will they be only one month in advance?

No, it's not in addition to monthly payments. It's advance rent. So there are now only two months left anyway, and in three weeks, there will only be one month left.0
