There will be a reason why it is set to offline in windows you just need to find out why.
before we start check these 2 bits
    Is the printer switched on?
Is it connected to the PC?

Now we can find out what is going on
First you may have just tried to send a print while the printer was offline so it has set itselt off line,

Go in to start and printers and faxes, right click the printer and click use printer off line it will remove the tick and try to establish the connection again if it does the queused print job will start to print.

how is it connected? USB normally. check the configuration in printers and faxes. start, printers and faxes, right click the printer and click properties. select theports tab and have alook what port has a tick next to it it should be USB or dot4???? or somthing similar definalty not LPTX. If that is ok close the properties.

right click the printer and click use printer off line it will remove the tick and try to establish the connection again.

If it doesnt start to print test connection and instalation by using the the scanner function, open HP director and scan a picture or somthing all we are looking for is a response light comming on and carrage movement.

Let us know how you get on.

    hi,

As a technician, i always check for really simple problems first.

It may sound stupid on my behalf but there could be a loose cable linking the pc and the printer. This would usually send prints to a queue.

As it is an all in one, have u tried testing it by making a photocopy. This is to test if the printer it self works and if so, it is most likely the pc you are using.

If you are running windows xp, sometimes if you delete a print it doesnt print but stays first in queue, then when you try and delete it, its status becomes deleting but it doesnt delete, if this is the case, the any other print that is ready will be behind this in the queue.

Check if any of these simple things are the problems and if not, reply and i will help you furthur
