Refresh problems

Here's a bit of a weird one - I am browsing through the photos stored in folders on my PC and deleting the pics I don't want. But they remain on the screen until I press F5 to refresh the screen. How can I get them to disappear instantly? I am running XP Home on a newish Dell PC.

Sounds like an XP problem to me... Not sure if it's anything "fixable". Deleting items on the Start Menu often does the same thing.

Thanks for your reply Lewis, you could well be right, I think I have deleted items from my Start menu in the past. Do you think a Windows repair would sort this out? Or a fresh install?
