Telescope help needed....

Hiya my hubby wants a telescope to look at the stars I have between £100.00-£150.00 to spend what is the best sort of telescope to buy please.
I have had a quick look on ebay but there are that many types the mind boggles:eek: .
Its for his birthday on the 26th so not that long to look...

there is no proper decent telescope available for them sort of prices.
they are the toy types, not a real astronomy telescope.
my advice is to leave well alone or save up and get a real proper one.
or maybe get a really cheap one to play with. say 20/30 quid?Get some gorm.0 -

So what's all this going to cost you? A decent pair of 8 x 40 binoculars can be purchased for £50. A reasonable 80-mm refractor will set you back about £150, while a 4-inch reflector can cost as little as £250. Remember that a telescope is a precision optical instrument and so you should be prepared to pay as much as for a good camera.Get some gorm.0

There isnt a middle of the range one I can get then?0 -

the bottom range of the proper ones start at about 150.00
