Living Abroad - IB/ESA Cont based

I may aswell start a new thread:-
There seems to be a lot of posts regarding this new rule (cb) esa. A lot of people are not aware of it / have not been made aware of it and are asking for help on forums to get help and info.
I wrote recently as I moved abroad before I was aware of the changes, ensured it was all ok with dwp etc. But the new legislation ending the entitlement to cb based ib / esa to end after a year was only passed through parliament after very little consultation, and then was made retrospective ( maybe a year).
I made a big move abroad depending on that income, and now although I understand I'll have to go through a reassessment phase, as I have in the passed, I'm a bit worried as to how things will pan out for me.
My concern is that living abroad I have no support, I'm on my own. & should I need representation (or even someone to accompany me to a medical) I don't know who to turn to. Surely I can't ask the charities ie, CAB etc.
Could I approach a consule or other organisation to help me should I need it.
I know its not covered most forums I've tried, or the WORLD WIDE WEB for that matter!! But there must be others out there abroad that need similar help to me.
It would me such a massive change to my life if I was to find myself loosing that income, which I rely upon. I have some savings that I'm trying to make last to cover rents etc.
Hope someone could point me in some direction. thread so copied and pasted my posts:-

Thanks,
I know IB is transferable, hence why I've set up abroad. ESA cb based is also unaffected if in the support group if my situation. It's the changes that concern me. Although I fulfill, I think the new criteria for support groupt, I understand people in the UK are having to appeal a decision for Work Group.
A lot of people, most that I can see, have a partner working and that is of concern to them as they won't qualify.
I did say I'd squared it with the DWP before leaving the country, though to be fair, as I said, these changes were quite rapidly implemented. Had I known even a year before, I might have moved to Hull:D

By the sound of the way ESA works they will continually hound you to take medicals and be at their beckon and call--they seem to take hostages and dont let go until the better option is to work(even if your ill)--just from anecdotal posts i have seen on here!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

A consulate would not help you with an appeal. They do have DWP contacts but they cannot offer independent representation. Perhaps you could ask your question on an expats forum?0
-
Yes, that seems to be the way.
I don't, like others, want to be reliant or beholden to them. i'm old enough not to have "Mum" or "Gran" looking over my shoulder to check out i'm doing the right thing, grinning and bearing it. I don't want to have to justify myself and the way I live, specially as I'm not as able as I used to be, makes me feel really inadequate.
But now have the DWP in my life - feels like the same thing.
I wonder if I should take the opportunity to knock them on the head and kick em out of my life, be reckless while I can - Stop, feel free and let alone to fly. I think we'd all like that and NEED it to move on and improve, recover.
I thought maybe there would be someone from the DWP or an advisor who could reassure me.0 -

Maybe the could give me a contact.
There is no more help on expat forums.
I'm looking for help as an English person abroad and there must be some help out there.
Don't give out to me but there was an awful lot of help for foreigners coming to my country of birth who get help with benefits, moreso than I ever got.0 -
i go on expat sites and wonder why the consulate speaks to the people there because as expats they no longer pay tax or Nİ.---its outside the EU so there shouldnt be any benefits being paid but they ask!!!!!!!
İ was told never to work again but i left the uk and found a less stressful life and job away from the system that seemed to be a biggest stressor in my life.--i work despite being written off by my doctor in the uk. i just keep an eye on what is happing there because i had many acquaitences who will be suicidal because of this.mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -

All sympathy goes as soon as you play the "foreigners get more benefits than me" card ... Boring, and utter rubbish.0 -

Err - because that's what consulate and embassies are for!!Don't get into the row about tax and NI payments please, you'll lose the arguement in an instant.

I'm glad for you. I'm less stressed too, simply by getting away from anti social neighbours with there vile, fowl mouthed, bullying children and off their head inadequate parents, barking all day - crapping everywhere dogs, rubbish, doctors that don't care, police that can't protect, I could go on but what's the point - I read about it and know I made a good move.
I've thought of self employment myself many times & I will if I can. I can't afford, mentally, to get to the same state as your friends because of the system. Other things affect me but I'll be damned the system will.
Good luck x0 -

Oh well, sorry about that. If you ever get to live abroad you'd take what I said in a wider context, but you won't so......
i never said foreigners get more benefits than me though
I Didn't want sympathy anyway so you won't need to waste your time:p0 -
i get so stressed when i go back to the uk--the whole lifestyle drives me into a gibbering mess. İf it wasnt for my wife i would never go back.-My life back in the uk doesnt sound anywhere near as bad as your's but it makes me ill!!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0
