Parking Eye further info

Posted this on the wrong board earlier :-/ try again!

Hi,
I've been reading the threads with interest regarding Parking Eye and parking charge notices after receiving one of these myself.
I have until Monday to pay the "reduced" amount, and have so far ignored the request, having received the second letter today.

I'm sorry if this has been covered elsewhere and I've not picked it up, but I have a question: would my non-payment affect me if I park in another Parking Eye location?
I ask as I noticed my favourite supermarket now also uses PE and I don't want to have to go elsewhere if I ignore their letters.

Unfortunately I was the one driving when my car was picked up by their ANPR cameras (so I can't write to them claiming otherwise), but perhaps if their stupid machines were working properly then maybe my dog wouldn't have run off around his favourite beauty spot after waiting for me to finally fetch a ticket from a machine that actually worked. Also, Parking Eye if you happen to reading this, a little feedback: perhaps if your machines gave change I would have been able to more than cover the time I was in the car park. Rant over.

Thanks for reading, again sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

I very much doubt that they are that organised! There'd be nothing they could do about it anyway.

remember, their request for payment is no more than that. A request which you are free to decline.

Just keep doing as you are doing. Serves them right for being greedy money grubbing !!!!!!... rant over (for now!)

If you allegedly breached contract with them again, you'll just go back into the threatening letter system.

A few breaches at the same location may trigger them to write a non-templated threatening letter attempting to ban the vehicle from any PE car park, but I've yet to see that.

You are taking them far too seriously - Just ignore the jokers and check sticky to see their letter chain so you know what comes next.

I have never seen a post where someone has been noticed in another PE car park, the scam is not that sophisticated!

I got a fake PCN 4 years ago in a Supermarket car park, laughed at it and completely ignored it, parking again - and overstaying on occasion - every week since. My fake PCN was from Euro Car Parks who are also in lots of other car parks I use.

Honestly, do not give it a second thought. You will just get the letters, that's all.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hiya,
Thanks for the responses. Had a busy weekend so only just managed to get back on.
That's reassuring, I didn't want to have to stop going to my supermarket just because of those greedy so&so's!
Yesterday was my last day for paying at the reduced rate so I'm now awating my third letter. I must admit to being a bit scared by ignoring them but I'll just have to stay strong!

Nothing to be scared about, once you get to 20 ignored tickets you wonder why you were ever nervous... I am past 80 now and still waiting for any of them to make good on the promise to take me to court.
  • If I were doing as you are, FA, my recycle bin would want emptying daily!! ;)

It is extremely unlikely that they have an ANPR camera. All they have is an ordinary camera which photographs registration plates. Then they have to ask the DVLA to tell them the name of the RK. Not quite ANPR!
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
