Objectdock and .NET Framework....arrrggghhh!

Afternoon all.

I'm trying to download the free version of Objectdock to my ancient Dell laptop. I've managed to get the download ok (from cnet) but when I try to run it, a box comes up telling me that I need ".NET Framework version 2.0 or later"

I've downloaded version 4 of .NET Framework, from the Microsoft site, along with several tedious updates, all of which require me to restart my computer. None of which appear to have worked.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I can live without Objectdock if I have to but I'm annoyed that bloody Microsoft and their irritating software have beaten me!

Thanks...B.

PS....the software that I have downloaded is listed as ......
.NET Framework 4 Client Profile
and
.NET Framework 4 Extended.
