Electric meter stoped working??
Options
My electric meter has stoped working, the red light has stoped flasing and the numbers are not being updated. British Gas know about this however the meter people who have to come and check the meter only come around during the day and not weekends which is a nightmare as I work full time and I dont wont to give my house keys to anyone else whist I'm not there. What I'm worried about is how I will be charged as the meter is not working??

they will estimate ur usage based on past/future consumption
be careful about the appointment thing mind
they could class this as "refused access" and could apply for a warrant to break in and change the meter
a lot of meter operators do saturday appointments tho - r u out in the sticks or something?0 -
You can request a weekend appointment for them to check and change your meter, and the person above is correct if you don't take proactive action to set up an appt they will pass your case to Revenue Protection who will obtain a warrant of entry to your property.
How long has this been going on ??0 -
Hi not long just a couple of weeks. Therefore I will get in contact with them next week. Cheers0
